IGF-1 LR3
Long-acting IGF-1 analogue
Available as: 0.1mg, 1mg
Overview
An 83-amino-acid analogue of insulin-like growth factor 1, with an arginine at position 3 and a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension.
Mechanism
Both changes sharply reduce binding to IGF-binding proteins, so more of the peptide stays free to activate the IGF-1 receptor (PI3K/Akt and MAPK signalling) for longer.
Research highlights
- Widely used as a supplement in mammalian cell culture and biomanufacturing to support cell growth.
- Considerably more potent than native IGF-1 in vitro because of its low IGFBP affinity.
