Arginate BPC-157
Gastric pentadecapeptide (arginine salt)
Available as: 500mcg
Overview
BPC-157 as an arginine salt, a form designed for better stability, particularly in oral research models. A 15-amino-acid synthetic peptide derived from a protein found in human gastric juice ("body protection compound").
Mechanism
Proposed mechanisms include promotion of angiogenesis via VEGFR2, modulation of the nitric oxide system and upregulation of growth hormone receptors in tendon fibroblasts.
Research highlights
- Accelerated healing of tendon, ligament, muscle, bone and gut lesions in rodent models.
- Stable in gastric juice, so it is also studied orally.
- Evidence is almost entirely preclinical; human data are very limited.
